Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, JANUARY 21, 2016 at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Colleen was born in Loup City, NE on February 19, 1940, the daughter of Otto and Hazel (Keeler) Fagus. In 1957 she graduated from Loup City High School. Colleen then moved to Los Angeles, CA to work with Travelers Insurance, and a year later, moved to Omaha and worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance. Colleen was married to Bill Zyntek in Council Bluffs, IA. They moved to Wolbach, NE in 1959 where Bill was a barber and Colleen gave piano lessons. They then lived in Burwell, NE for five years where she worked at a lawyer's office. Then an opportunity came up when they moved back to Wolbach, where they purchased a grocery store, which they renamed Bill's Market. Colleen later worked in Grand Island before moving to Homer in 2001. She worked as a Registrar for Mercy Medical Center until retiring in 2010. Colleen loved being with her family, friends and attending her grandchildren's activities. She enjoyed playing bridge, cribbage and yahtzee. Colleen is survivred by her son, Greg (Billie Jo) Zyntek of Jamestown, North Carolina; her daughter, Kristy (Merlyn) Tremayne of Homer, NE; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Hazel Fagus.
