John Robert & Cordelia Jane (Stuart) McClaskey's children are: Emeline Rozzella McClaskey Pearl Elizabeth McClaskeky William Robert McClaskey Lily Marie McClaskey Alice Lorene McClaskey Bryan Arthur McClaskey On September 24, 1913, When daughter Emeline was only two weeks old the family set out for Colorado via covered wagon. They traveled with John's parents, Robert & Rozella McClaskey and two of John's brothers as well. It was there in Colorado that Cordelia died. When she died she had never seen an electric appliance, except a lightbulb. She was close friends with neighbors, Sadie Ashcraft & Gladys (surname unknown) and the three women had babies within a month of each other. According to daughter, Emeline, "the three families were close neighbors and we lived 20 miles from town, so about once a week two of the mothers would take the cream and eggs to town and buy groceries and supplies and the other mother would stay home and keep all the kids, including the three babies. All three were nursing so that mother (Cordelia) just fed all three of them" --+-- In Memoriam (from a local paper) Caroline Jane Stuart was born in Iowa, March 18, 1894. Her parents moved to Oklahoma when she was a small girl, where she lived until she was united in marriage to John (Robert) McClaskey, November 29, 1913. They moved to Colorado in 1913, where she died at 34 years, 11 months, 22 days. She leaves a loving husband and six children to mourn her departure; also a mother, four sisters and two brothers. She was united with the Christian Church in 1910 and was a devoted member until her death. She was a home loving woman and her time was spent caring for her children. To her struggles and burdensome earth are ended and we confidently trust that like one who awakes from a troubled dream, she has awakened to see life's endless morning break and knows herself at home with all the vast throng of loved ones, missed from earth, safe about her.
