Crest, 81, died of injuries he received in an accident at the city dump Sunday afternoon. Apparently Mr. Crest had taken something to the dump and had stepped out of his car when the machine started backward in reverse gear. Walter Kallinen, an employee at the Big Timber Scrap and Salvage Co., noticed the car traveling around in a tight circle, ran over and shut off the motor. He didn't see Mr. Crest's body until after he had stopped the car. The body. was underneath the car, held there when Mr. Crest's belt caught on a tie-rod. He suffered a fractured skull, crushed chest and broken leg and was dead when authorities arrived at the scene. Deceased was practically a life-long resident of Sweet Grass county and had operated barber shops in Big Timber for many years. He was born May 3, 1883, in Ishpeming, Mich., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Crest. He moved with the family to Melville when he was one year old and later to the lower Sweet Grass when the family moved there. Mr. Crest was married to Laurel J. Andrews in Wyoming in 1920, and in 1928 Mr. Crest constructed the building where he and his wife have operated a barber shop and beauty parlor. Besides his widow, Mr. Crest is survived by a stepson, Lloyd Andrews of Hermosa, Cal., three sisters;, Mrs. Addie Hoem, Mrs. Alvhild Nicholson, and Mrs. Margaret Busha, all of Big Timber; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Lowry Chapel Wednesday afternoon, with John Foote of Billings conducting Christian Science services. Burial was in Mountain View.
