Description	:	MRS. FRANK HAWLEY Cynthia Lecour, the third child of Joseph and Lucy Colburn LeCour, was born on March 16, 1851, in the state of New York. Blackburn of Holton, Kansas;... Read More	MRS. FRANK HAWLEY Cynthia Lecour, the third child of Joseph and Lucy Colburn LeCour, was born on March 16, 1851, in the state of New York. After a short residence there the family moved to Clayton County, Iowa, and settled on Cox ???????? has always been in the old ///rans School House. She was raised by the Rev. George L. Gar????, to Frank Hawley and for over ???? years they have traveled life's road together, Four children were born to them, all of whom are living. They are Almedia, now Mrs. Wm. C. Blackburn of Holton, Kansas; Etta Pearl, now Mrs. Emery Beatty who lives near Littleport, Iowa; Virginia Amy, the wife of N. W. Scovel of Edgewood, Iowa; and Leroy Franklin, of Lynxville, Wisconsin. These with her bereaved husband mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother, of her father's family there remain out of seven children but two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Burdine, of Troutville, Oregon, and Mrs. Angeline Bacon, of Edgewood, Iowa. She also leaves fifteen grand-children and two great-grand-children. For five years her health had been failing and there was no remedy for the disease and the end came at five o'clock on Sunday afternoon, June 27, 1920, at the age of 69 years, 3 months, and 11 days. Her parents were members of the Roman Catholic Church, but when a young woman of sixteen the deceased united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and remained a consistent member to the end. Mrs. Hawley was a good woman and reared her family in the fear of the Lord. In this community where she lived so long she has a large circle of friends who are in deep sorrow over her departure. The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, June 29th, in the Methodist Church in Edgewood conducted by her pastor, the Rev. S. C. Bretnall and the body was laid to rest in the Edgewood cemetery. Manchester Democrat - Manchester, Iowa - June 30, 1920
