Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Jun 12, 1936 - pg. 1 Cyrus L Stayner Cyrus Lincoln Stayner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Stayner, was born January 25, 1879 at Edgar, Nebraska and died June 8, 1936 at Edgar, Nebraska at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers and a sister. He was united in marriage January 14, 1914 to Vesta Houck. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Earl Woodhead of Malcolm, Nebraska, Vira May, Jeanette Lois, Martha Lyrl and Mary Louise at home. He lived at Edgar his entire life with the exception of a few years spent in Ohio and one year in Colorado. He graduated from the Edgar High School in 1897. At an early age he joined the Presbyterian Church at Edgar in which church he was a member at the time of his death. In the passing of Mr. Stayner the church has suffered a distinct loss. He was a regular attendant at both church and Sunday school and was deeply interested in the welfare of his church and of the Sunday school class where he participated in the study of the Bible. His fine judgment and opinions were always worthy of the deepest consideration. He loved the church and what it stood for. He was a deacon of the Presbyterian church at the time of his death and was at one time an elder in the church, . Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his death one brother, Lawrence Stayner of McCook, four sisters, Mrs. J. B. Hazelbaker of Lincoln, Mrs. Lee Hill of Grand Island, Mrs. Martha Ferree and Miss Eva Stayner of Edgar two grandchildren, Barbara Ann and Lois Jean Woodhead of Malcolm and many her relatives and a host of friends Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon June 10, 1936 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev T. S. Hughes in charge. A quartet comprised of Mrs. W. R. Organ, Mrs. T. S. Hughes, J. G. Walley and J. Robt Olseene sang several numbers. Miss Elizabeth Hughes was at the organ. The pall bearers were C. G. Cottle, O. A. Schlichtman, Arthur Swanson, C. A. Storrs, W. J. Goesch and Otto W. Wolf. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
