Description	:	Mrs Cyrus Stayner called home Sarah E. Scriven was born in Pennsylvania November 27, 1840, and died at Edgar, Neb. September 19, 1921, at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 22 days. Her parents moved to Indiana when she was a chlld and from there they moved to Iowa where she was united in marriage to Cyrus Stayner, May 9, 1861. E. Stayner, Edgar, Neb.; E. E. Stayner and Mrs. Lee Hill, Lincoln, Neb.; Miss Celia and C. L. Stayner, Edgar, Neb. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Cyrus Stayner, the above named children besides grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. For about twenty years Mrs. Stayner had been an invalid and a constant sufferer. With her husband she endured the hardships of the pioneer days as homesteaders they settled northeast of Edgar in May, 1872. Here they reared their famiy and spent the greater part of their married life, contributing to the development of the country and the establishing of this prosperous community. In early life, Mrs. Stayner became a member of the Methodist Church but for many years was not able to enjoy the fellowship of the church. We think of her today as gone to that greater fellowship of which Paul speaks, of his son Jesus Christ." ~ W. C. R. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church Wednesday, September 21. A brief service at the home preceded that at the church at 10:30 o'clock. a quartet, Mrs. E. P. King, Miss Claire Graul, J. G. Walley and C. S. Voorhees, sang three very appropriate hymns and the pastor preached from Jno. 11: 23-27, his theme being "The Hope of the Resurrection." The body was tenderly laid to rest in the Edgar Cemetery.
