Dallas was born April 2, 1939, in Scobey, Mont., the tenth child of Myrtle (Vick) and George Weldele. Read More	Dallas Patrick Weldele Dallas Patrick Weldele passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, due to complications caused by cancer. Dallas was born April 2, 1939, in Scobey, Mont., the tenth child of Myrtle (Vick) and George Weldele. He received his early education in Scobey; Detroit, Mich.; and Billings before entering the U.S. Army in 1956. He was proud of his years of service which took him to Iceland, Greenland, Germany and France with photography missions for service records. A fter discharge he returned to Montana, working with his brothers in the house moving and roofing business. With his ambition to create and build, Dallas became a highly respected iron worker, instrumental in many projects throughout the state. After he became semi-retired, he was still requested to head up jobs, thus he established Weldele Construction, working as a subcontractor on local projects. In his younger years, he was an avid roller skater, admired by all the young girls and then one day a striking redhead, Donna LaQua, caught his eye as she drove by in her 1955 Ford convertible. They married on Jan. 26, 1963, and that fancy convertible took them on their honeymoon. The next 45 years were shared in travel to Germany, Alaska, Hawaii and many other states visiting relatives and friends while fishing, hunting and enjoying the outdoors. Dallas was a perfectionist in his home with a six-foot garden that produced as much as any fulltime farmer. Every season was a wonder with his display of exotic plants in the house and yard. Again in the creating mode, his passion was standing at his huge loom while weaving rugs out of old rags. He made over 1,000 rugs. The light of his life was spending time with his grandsons as he looked forward to their next adventure. Dallas had a sense of humor that would make you grab your sides as he teased about a game of pinochle or some wild story. He could make the tale of a goldfish in a bowl sound like the reeling in of a huge whale. His last days were spent in making everyone around him smile. Dallas is survived by his loving wife and soul mate. Donna, sons, Bret (Glenda) and grandson Seth, of Billings, and Mark (Holly) and grandson Cameron of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Nina Jackman of Ray, Mich., Sibyl (Charles) Delaire of Edgewood, Wash., Lucille (Steve) Stevens of Billings, Morraine (Don) Doty of Three Forks, Leona (Howard) Harmon of Savage and Cleo (Giles) Zickefoose of Billings. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Darlene Weldele of Helena, Hazel Weldele of Scobey and Pam Weldele of Salt Lake City, Utah. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, he is survived by in-laws, Hazel Conway, Richard Conway and Cindy Reitz. Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jean, Irene and Wanda, and brothers David, Dennis and Donald. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Smith's West Chapel. A celebration of Dallas's life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Smith's West Chapel, 304 34th St. W. with a reception following interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
