Description	:	Daniel Clark DeLong, 83, of Lancaster, OH passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Pickering House in Lancaster, OH. He was born to the late Clarke and Edna Whitmore DeLong on November 4, 1932 in Lancaster, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Fairfield School for Boys and the South Eastern Correctional Institute for many years as an account clerk. Read More	Daniel Clark DeLong, 83, of Lancaster, OH passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Pickering House in Lancaster, OH. He was born to the late Clarke and Edna Whitmore DeLong on November 4, 1932 in Lancaster, Ohio. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Fairfield School for Boys and the South Eastern Correctional Institute for many years as an account clerk. Daniel was a member of the American Legion and always carried a leather bag with a staple gun, screwdriver and pliers in his car for when he would go to Maple Grove Cemetery to fix the military flags at the grave sites. Daniel is survived by his sister-in-laws; Mary (Merle) DeLong, Norma Jean (Erle) DeLong; his many nieces and nephews, as well as special niece Sandy Callahan, with whom he had lived with for the past 6 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ralph "Buddy" DeLong, Clarence DeLong. and twins, Merle and Erle DeLong; sisters, Geraldine "Helen" Goodwin, and Dorothy Hedrick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Tony Salvatori officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster, OH. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
