Jack Lovell's passing takes one of the community's oldest pioneers for he came to Carroll County in 1877 and has been a continuous resident here since that time. Married in 1881 he and his wife, who survives him, farmed for many years and moved to town in 1914. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary here last February. The life sketch as read at the services follows: "Daniel Jackson Lovell, son of William and Sarah Grace Lovell, passed away at his home in Coon Rapids Friday, July 14, 1950 at the age of ninety years and seven months. He had been in ill health for about a year. He was born near Davenport, Iowa, December 15, 1859. With his parents he moved to Carroll County in 1877. He retired from farming in 1914 and has lived in his present home since that time. February 3, 1881, he was united in marriage to Jane Anice Parker. To this union six children were born. Two sons preceded him in death, one having died in infancy, and Harry, who passed away in 1943. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Ray of Kingston, Washington; John of West Plains, Missouri; and Irvin and Mona of Coon Rapids. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Out of town people who attended the funeral were Ray Lovell of Washington; John Lovell of Missouri, Mrs. LeRoy Roper of Cape Girardo, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. David H. Goeppinger and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Goeppinger, Louis Goeppinger, Miss Emilie Goeppinger, Mrs. Otto Herman and Mis Louise Herman, all of Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Mae Rickerson of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Lizzie Rinehart of Scranton, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer South of Bouton, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Zeller of Bagley, Frank Pevestorf, Mrs. Aden Davis and Wayen Pevestorf, all of Jefferson and Mr. and Mrs. Will Hedges of Scranton.
