He was born January 28, 1939, at Mason City, WA, the son of Earl and June (Sweaney) Galbraith. In 1957, he graduated from Brewster High School and then attended Wenatchee Valley College for a year. He was an active member of the Ironworkers Union Local #14 in Spokane for over 40 years. He was also a charter member of the Quad City Eagles Aerie #3708. Dan's hobbies included collecting antiques, car shows and sharing pig roasts and deep-fried turkeys with family and friends. On August 26, 1977, he was married to Linda Bergenholtz in Brewster. Since April 1988, they have resided at Newport, where he was employed in the construction of the new paper mill. Besides his wife, Linda, he is survived by three sons, Bill Galbraith of Newport, Ben (Lori) Galbraith of Wenatchee and Wade (Natalie) Furman of Weare, NH; three daughters, Teresa (Jeff) Williams of Bremerton, Cindie Grassi of Olympia and Jennie (Matt) Mathes of Naches; his sisters, Janice (Norman) Fitzhugh of Brewster, Vivian Nalls of Camden, AR, Carol (Leon) Byrd of Ephrata and Verda (Gene) Olsen of Brewster; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marvin Galbraith; and a sister, Ann Kiedrowski. A Tribute Service will take place Friday, November 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Barnes Chapel, with Pastor Rick Bayless officiating. Interment will follow at Bridgeport Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Ronald McDonald House or the Multiple Sclerosis Fund. Services have been entrusted to Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
