Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Sept 28, 1941 - pg. 1 David Cassell David Cassell, son of James ad Isabell Cassell, was born in Morrison, Illinois, September 17. 1864, and passed away at his home near Ong, Nebraska, September 18, 1941, at the age of 77 years and 1 day. He came to Nebraska at the age of 20 and settled on a farm near Ong with his mother and two brothers. He was united in marriage to Maggie Alice Rowlison at Hoxie, Kansas on April 7, 1890, and has since resided in the Ong vicinity continuously until his death. The last 47 years were spent on the same farm. This union was blessed with nine children, six sons and three daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Cassell had the pleasure of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary on April 7, 1940. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. Lodge at Ong for a number of years. He was a kind ad thoughtful father and husband. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Oakley, and brothers, James William and Charles. Surviving are his wife, Maggie, six sons, James of Edgar, Harry of Manette, Wash., Leonard of Clay Center, Leland of Twin Falls, Idaho, Arthur at home and Wayne of Saronville, three daughters, Jessie Karnatz of Davenport, Gladys Starr of Edgar and Mildred Johnson of Sutton, one brother, Oliver Cassell of Oak, sixteen grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Edgar, Nebraska, Sunday, September 21, 1941, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Rush in charge. All of the children were present except Harry and Leland who were unable to attend. A quartet composed of Ed Cushing, Irvin Essinger, Ralph McKinney and Cecil Strawser sang. Mrs. Lydia Phelps was at the piano. Pallbearers were: Marsh Isham, Irl Grone, Wardie Johnson, Elmer Gowen, John Anderson and Frank Smith. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
