Read More	FORMER DOWAGIAC MAN DIES OF HEART TROUBLE David Brenner Passes Away at Home of Son in Berrien Center Yesterday While a guest at the home of his son, Roe Brenner, in Berrien Center, David Brenner expired suddenly yesterday, the shock of death coming to him almost without warning. Mr. Brenner was about 56 years of age, and was born in Pennsylvania, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Brenner, who came to Berrien township when deceased was a child and commenced farming. About 25 years ago Mr. Brenner came to Silver Creek township and bought what is now known as the Dr. Herkimer farm. He improved the property by building a handsome farmhouse and operated a dairy for some time. Later he moved to this city, where he conducted a meat market. He spent several years here, finally selling the farm and going back to Berrien township. For some months Mr. Brenner had been complaining of heart trouble and although he was still around, and only a few days ago paid a visit to friends here in the city, he showed that he was failing. His aged father survives him, as does two sisters, a brother, the wife and four children. The latter are the son Roe, with whom he has been making him home for some time; Mrs. Virgil Swartz, Mrs. Ruth Allen, and Miss Lucille, living in South Bend. Mr. Brenner was a genial, companionable man, and had a large circle of acquaintances in this and Berrien county. His wife was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, pioneers of Silver Creek, her home now being in South Bend. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 1 o'clock at Berrien Center, with burial in the cemetery at Union church, where his people are buried. Dowagiac Daily News February 11, 1914 page 1, column 6
