Nellie Coy who was the daughter of Margaret Lorena said, "Our grandparents came to Nebraska about 1887 and were buried in the Elwood Cemetery. We were up there Memorial Day in 1966 and got their birth years from the stone. Just the facts don't tell much about the people though. The stories of Ireland, their coming to America on an Immigrant ship, settling first in Illinois, then to Iowa and finally to Nebraska. When we were children we loved to get grandmother to tell of her trip across the Atlantic. She was an orphan girl and came with the Major family as a nursemaid. The family was from County Down. Grandfather David and another son came ahead of the family and got land by Wooster, Ohio. They worked and earned money to send for the rest in 1856. They were Protestants and the Catholics were giving them a hard time so they decided to go where there was more freedom of religion. Grandma saw Grandpa for the first time after she came to Ohio.
