SENS DIES TODAY Services Sunday afternoon for prominent Jefferson county resident Also know nas (sic. known as) David N. Sense, David N. Sens, 86, pioneer resident of Jefferson county, passed away at one o'clock htis (sic. this) morning at the Jefferson county hospital. He was taken to the hospital on Monday morning. Funeral services will be held at the Hoskins funeral Home on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in charge of Dr. M. A. Cabie (sic. not sure of spelling from microfilmed image). Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Sens was the son of pioneer parents, who came to Jefferson county in September, 1839, from Baltimore, Md. Here he was born on December 22, 1854, the next to the youngest of a family of eleven children. He was united in marriage to Clara Ready on May 10, 1876, She preceded him in death November 3, 1918, at Bowman, N.D. Mr. Sens moved to Fairfield in 1898 from a farm near Glasgow. He was engaged in the livery business in this city for fifteen years after which the family moved to Bowman, N.D., where they resided for seven years. They then returned to Fairfield, where he had made his home since. He was a member of Clinton Lodge No. 15, A.F. and A.M., McCoid Chapter No. 5, and I.O.O.F. No. 4. He was also affiliated with the Methodist church. Surviving are one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Clarence Glass of this city, Carl Sens (sic. a/k/a Carl Sense) of Bowman, N.D., and Earl Sens (sic. Earl Sense) of Tacoma, Wash. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mr. Sens was preceded in death by four children.
