Description	:	David Rolston was born February 23, 1828 in Rockingham County, Virginia, the eldest of ten children born to Silas Henton Rolston and Lydia Burkholder. David was named after his paternal grandfather, David Rolstone, Jr.. In 1836, when David was eight years old, his father moved the family to Knox County, Ohio. There David would grow to adulthood and become a farmer. On February 4, 1852 David married Catherine Adrian. The couple would raise nine children. Read More	David Rolston was born February 23, 1828 in Rockingham County, Virginia, the eldest of ten children born to Silas Henton Rolston and Lydia Burkholder. David was named after his paternal grandfather, David Rolstone, Jr.. In 1836, when David was eight years old, his father moved the family to Knox County, Ohio. There David would grow to adulthood and become a farmer. On February 4, 1852 David married Catherine Adrian. The couple would raise nine children. The first of these children was not born until 1855, over three years after their marriage. As such, there may have been a tenth child (first born) that did not survive and passed unrecorded. Sometime before 1860 David moved his family from Knox County to Coshocton County. On September 6, 1870 David was appointed by his siblings and their spouses to have power of attorney in settling the estate of their grandfather, David Ralston (Rolstone, Jr.) of Rockingham Co., Virginia. (Deed Book 7, page 61) On March 29, 1880 David's wife of 28 years died at the age of 48. The widower, David, and his children were later enumerated in the 1880 census, Bedford, Coshocton County, Ohio. David died four years later on April 24, 1884 at the age of 52. He was survived by his nine children.
