Andre Superior, Oct. 9 – Funeral Services were held at the church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Ragsdale of the Estherville Christian church, and Rev. Schaper in charge, appropriate selections were sung by the quartet and the casket bearers were six boys selected from among his schoolmates. Delbert was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Andre. He was born August 18, 1916, at Manning, Ia., and died at the home of his parents, Tuesday morning. Although he had not been well for a number of days, his illness was not considered serious until shortly before his deth. Eleven years ago his parents moved to Dickinson county, locating on a farm near Superior. All his schooldays have been spent in the Superior school, where he with his class began seventh grade work this fall. He leaves his parents and three brothers, Richard, Wayne and Merle, besides a host of friends to mourn. The body was laid to rest in the Superior cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, 10 October 1930) Funeral Service Delbert Andre Superior, Iowa, Oct 14 – Delbert Andre, the oldest son of Frank and Alta Andre passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 7, at 8:12 at the age of 14 years, 1 month and 19 days. He was born in Manning, Iowa, Aug. 18, 1916, and came to Dickinson county with his parents 11 years ago to the home where they now live. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his devoted parents, three brothers, Richard, Wayne and Merle, besides his grandfather and a host of relatives and friends. Delbert was in the seventh grade and a loyal member of the Sunday school class. He was a quiet industrious boy and was liked by everyone who knew him. Rev. Bounds preached the funeral sermon and Rev. Ragsdale of the Christian church of Estherville and Rev. Schaper assisting. Pallbearers were Jer Hutchinson, Woodrow Russell, Fred McMullen, Phil McQuirk, Ralph Ross and Robert Christensen.
