Services were in charge of Rev. Marx of St. Paul's Evangelical church and burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Della May Starks was born May 21, 1865 in Northern New York state. At an early age her family moved to Pine Grove, Mich., where she grew to young womanhood. She began her teaching career at the age of 18, teaching in Michigan, Iowa and Colorado. On March 31, 1887 she was united in marriage to Ernest Banks Corning at Lodgepole, Nebr. they made their first home near Hampton, Ia., moving to a farm three miles north of Litchfield in 1882. In 1906 they moved to Loup City where they have since resided. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Arlie Anderstrom of Ashton, Mrs. Elma Zwink of Bellinghan, Wash., Mrs. Frances Allen of Everson, Wash., Ross Corning of Greeley, Colo., and a daughter who died in infancy. She is survived by three daughters, one son, eight grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Her husband preceded her in death December 27, 1935. Although failing in health for many years, she was always a loving and devoted wife and mother. The Sherman County Times - Oct 8 1941
