He was 27 years of age. He was a native of Almonte and was educated here. After leaving school he entered the employ of the Rosamond Woolen Company, and won confidence to a marked degree. Six years ago he contracted a cold from which he never thoroughly recovered and which ended in his early demise. His father died when he was a boy of twelve, and, it was notable of him that he took upon himself the duties of eldest son in most manful way. He won for himself many friendships. He was a member of Bethany United Church. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon to the Auld Kirk Cemetery and was largely attended. Rev J.R. MacCrimmon conducted the service. The pallbearers were: Messrs W.B. James, M.R. Young, Alex Schoular, Morris Turner, Kenny McClellan, and Melvin McEwen. Besides his sorrowing mother he is survived by two younger brothers, John and Lawrence, both of Almonte. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr and Mrs F.V. Kirk, Walter and Miss Jean Kirk, of Bromley Township, Mrs Hagarty and John and Mrs Jas McManus, of Arnprior, and Mr and Mrs Lloyd McLellan and family, of Arnprior.
