Description	:	Denny Gaarder (pronounced Gorder) attended Mason City Junior College in the mid 1960's and received a degree in Drafting. He then went to work at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Naperville, Illinois. Note: He enjoyed golf, softball, volleyball and bowling, as well as beer drinking. He lived at Weston, Illinois, when the entire town was condemned to make way for the Fermi Lab (National Accellerator Laboratory), in 1968. Note: He then lived for several years at 5501 Main in Downers Grove, Ill. Later, because of his drinking he lost his job at Bell Labs, and eventually died of heart... He was born on May 28, 1948 to Norman H. and Olive Motland Gaarder. He grew up at Osage, Iowa and later attended North Iowa Community College, studying drafting. In 1968 he was hired as a draftsman by Bell Telephone Laboratories at Naperville, Illinois. He was very interested in sports -- playing golf and softball. Denny was buried in the Osage City Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry Norman Gaarder (1895-1970) and Cordelia Mary (Hansen) Gaarder (1896-1961). Denny loved to play sports, like football, softball, volleyball, and golf; In the summer of 1968, Dennis was still living in a house in Weston, Illinois. The entire town was condemned in order to make way for the Fermi Lab -- the nuclear accellerator laboratory.
