He departed this life on Saturday, November 22, 2009 at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 67 years. As a young boy Dennis was baptized at St. Lukes Lutheran Church at Emerson, Nebraska. He departed this life on Saturday, November 22, 2009 at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 67 years. As a young boy Dennis was baptized at St. Lukes Lutheran Church at Emerson, Nebraska. Dennis attended Portland Heights school through the 8th grade and graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1959.On December 29, 1962 Dennis was united in marriage to Carolyn Anne Hayes. This union was blessed with the birth of one son. Dennis worked for Ideal Cement, in Superior, NE from 1962 retiring in 1986. Dennis also was employed with Reinke Manufacturing Company at Deshler, Nebraska from 1999 to 2005. Dennis dearly loved the many, many years of hunting and fishing with his son Jeff, especially coyote hunting and all the grey hounds the raised together. However, if asked, Dennis believed his biggest accomplishments were his family, his wife, son, daughter in law and the day his little granddaughter was given to them. Dennis was a life member of the NRA, the National Wild Turkey organization, and a 24 year member of local #83, the United Cement, Lime and Gypsum Workers. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of Superior, NE; son Jeffery Alan Combs, wife Brenda and their daughter Jenna Lee Ann all of Superior, NE; brothers: Michael Combs and wife Sharon of Superior, NE and John Combs of Superior, NE; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held this Wednesday 2:30 PM, November 25, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Superior, NE. Melissa Wilt will be officiating. Burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, NE. Williams Funeral Home of Superior, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
