Description	:	Diane Knigge, 73, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Avera Maryhouse Nursing Care after a long battle with lung cancer. Memorial Services will be held at 2:30pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Feigum Funeral Home with a fellowship gathering an hour prior beginning at 1:30pm. Inurnment will take place at Scotty Philip Cemetery. Diane was born in Springfield, SD to Herbert and Fern (Lange) Fitch. She grew up in Fort Pierre where she remained until 1968 when she moved to Rapid City. She started a daycare where she cared for countless children over the years. ... She grew up in Fort Pierre where she remained until 1968 when she moved to Rapid City. She started a daycare where she cared for countless children over the years. She later became the first accident investigator for the Rapid City Police Department. She really enjoyed her time in that position. Diane returned to Fort Pierre in 1984. She worked for Oahe, Inc., Beverly’s Healthcare and the State of South Dakota’s janitorial department. She always did her work with pride and won many awards for her dedicated service. Diane was a great mother to six children – Virginia, Jeff, Vicki, Jay, Danny and Bryan. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who always put them first. Diane loved the outdoors – camping vacations and gardening were some of her favorite pastimes. Diane is survived by four children: Virginia Jones Swan, Vicki Solberg, and Daniel Knigge all of Pierre along with Bryan (Lisa) Knigge of Rossmoor, CA; siblings, Butch (Shirley) Fitch, Doris Kulhavey and Bonnie (Keith) Franke; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Jay D. Jones and Jeff Jones. - Feigum Funeral Home
