Description	:	Diane Kay Harris, daughter of Robert and Thelma (Wheeler) Harris, was born July 12, 1969 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in Graettinger, graduating from Graettinger High School in 1988. Diane became known to her family and friends as “Tillie” at a young age and this nickname stayed with her. She received her education in Graettinger, graduating from Graettinger High School in 1988. Diane became known to her family and friends as “Tillie” at a young age and this nickname stayed with her. Diane was employed at S.N.C. in Emmetsburg for fifteen years and later operated a day care in Graettinger. She was a faithful and devoted member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger where she taught Sunday School and helped with the food pantry. Diane’s church life was very important to her and she enjoyed attending the Saturday contemporary services and being a part of the Disciple Bible Study group. Diane loved to go camping, watching the Kansas City Chiefs and following the Northwest Missouri college teams. Her nieces and nephews meant the world to her and she was always interested in following their events, especially softball, baseball and cross country. On Sundays when Diane and her mother would go to visit her family, she enjoyed riding on the golf cart with her nieces and nephews taking the gravel roads from Graettinger to Ruthven. Diane didn’t know a stranger and loved being around people and visiting with them. Diane passed away suddenly on Friday, March 15, 2019, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 49. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Harris; a brother, Michael Harris; and a nephew, Jeff Oliphant. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Harris of Graettinger, Iowa; brothers and sisters, Mark (Jackie) Harris of Graettinger, Iowa, Debbie (Gary) Edwards of Graettinger, Iowa, Lori Harris of Maryville, Missouri, David (Debbi) Harris of Graettinger, Iowa, and Emmet (Tina) Harris of Graettinger, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
