He was born July 7, 1926 in Clyde, Kansas to Walter and Nellie (Huffman) Payeur. Dick was a 1944 Graduate of Clyde High School. He served in the United States Navy for 2 years. Payeur, age 95, entered into rest, Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the family farmstead Clyde, Kansas. He was born July 7, 1926 in Clyde, Kansas to Walter and Nellie (Huffman) Payeur. Dick was a 1944 Graduate of Clyde High School. He served in the United States Navy for 2 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and later Master in Education. On September 1, 1947 he married Leona May Anderson in Clyde, Kansas. To this Union 3 children were born, Robert, Linda and Stan. Dick taught at the Branfort School in the country, Clifton School, Joines Country School, and retired from Gage Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas, after over 30 years of teaching. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post #7515 of Clyde. Dick is survived by his wife Leona May of the home, 2 sons, Robert Payeur (Debi), Ottawa, KS; Stan Payeur (Gena), Clyde, KS; a daughter, Linda Spade (Leland), Clyde, KS; 9 granchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nellie, 3 brothers, Kurtz, Warren, Darrell Payeur and sister, Wanda Payeur. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm. It was Dick's wishes to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde with Pastor Michael Ostermann officiating. Burial of the Cremains will be held at a later date and time privately by the Family. Memorial contributions may be given to Agenda United Methodist Church, in c/0 Chaput Mortuary, PO Box 291, Clyde, KS 66938
