Born in Chelsea the son of Josiah and Mary Jordan, he was a longtime resident of Story County. he was a farmer and a railroad worker. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen Groomes, Sr., Nevada and Mrs. Bonnie Adriance, Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, George, Huxley, and Harry, Ames, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Durham, Oskaloosa. M. C. Shupe, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ryan Funeral Home until time for services.
