Mrs. Larchick was born on Nov. 10, 1937, in Chicago, the daughter of Edmund and Celia (Dymek) Ignowski. She was united in marriage to Julius J. "Jim" Larchick on Sept. 26, 1959, at Ashton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1994. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Francis Kehler of Greeley, Maria and Joe Janke of Kearney, and Gena and Rodney Rogers of Loup City; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Gerard Larchick of Loup City, Brian and Maggie Larchick of Clarks, and Rob Larchick of Loup City; and two sisters, Mary Skibinski of Ashton and Sue Kaminski of Loup City. She also leaves to cherish her memory 15 grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Mary Ann Leathers of Topeka, KS, Carolyn Olsen of Grand Island, Bertha and Bill Jerabek of St. Paul, and Joyce and Bob Clark of Morrison, CO. As a young girl, Dee began her education in Chicago schools and in 1943, moved with her family to Ashton. She attended St. Francis parochial school and was a 1956 graduate of Ashton High School. As a young woman she worked for Guarantee Mutual Insurance Company in Omaha and later for Woodman Accident & Life in Lincoln. After she and Jim were married they lived in Loup City, where she was a stay-at-home mother to her children. In 1976, she started an upholstery and furniture refinishing business out of her home. She also worked at the Colony Club in Loup City for a number of years. She later worked at Rose Lane Home as a nursing assistant, Central Nebraska Community Services and Bullet Weights. Her last employment was with the "After School Program" for Sherman County Prevention. Dee was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church where she was active in the Council of Catholic Women, music ministry, served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a former CCD teacher. She was also active in the Red Hat Ladies and was a lifetime member of the Polish Heritage Center in Ashton. She enjoyed crocheting, playing the organ and piano, polka music and dancing. She dearly loved her grandchildren and also loved a good cup of coffee and donut sticks. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Francis Larchick; granddaughter, Dawn Marie Kehler; sister, Arlene Ignowski; and a brother, Bob Ignowski.
