Poling, 74, of Shiloh Community, Moatsville, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at his home, following an extended illness He was born March 21, 1941, at Sinclair, Preston County, a son of the late Emwood Hayward Poling and the late Wilda Herlene (Phillips) Poling Sturm. On June 3, 1961, he married the former Catherine E. Poling, who survives at their Moatsville home. Also surviving are two sons, Travis T. James and Euriah T. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Hart, and three brothers, Elwood Poling, Norman "Bob" Poling, and Terry Lee Poling. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with European Occupation forces during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a forklift operator from Ford Motor Company's Cleveland Stamping Plant. He was a member, Deacon and Board Chair of the Shiloh Church of the Brethren. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, from the Shiloh Church of the Brethren, Shiloh Road, Moatsville. Garry Clem and Pastor Todd Mouser officiated and interment was in the Shiloh Cemetery where Belington Post #96, American Legion, conferred military rites.
