Description	:	Dora F. (Tobiassen) Schmidt Griffin was born on July 22, 1927, daughter of Tobias Jurgen "Jerry" and Trientje Margaret "Tena" (Bienhoff) Tobiassen on a farm north of Franklin, Nebraska. Dora departed this life at the Golden Living Center in Franklin, on July 31, 2012. Dora was baptized at her grandparent's home in Macon, Nebraska on August 7, 1927 by Rev. (Tobiassen) Schmidt Griffin was born on July 22, 1927, daughter of Tobias Jurgen "Jerry" and Trientje Margaret "Tena" (Bienhoff) Tobiassen on a farm north of Franklin, Nebraska. Dora departed this life at the Golden Living Center in Franklin, on July 31, 2012. Dora was baptized at her grandparent's home in Macon, Nebraska on August 7, 1927 by Rev. Clarence Smith and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church at Macon, Nebraska on March 29, 1942. Dora attended grade school at Lakeview School District 67 and graduated from Franklin High School with the class of 1944. Immediately following high school, she was asked to work as secretary for the superintendent at Franklin High School in Franklin, Nebraska. Later, she worked at the Franklin County Sentinel, the Selective Service Office, the Franklin County Clerk's Office, and the Franklin County Rural Public Power District. On April 4, 1948 she was united in marriage to Raymond Carl Schmidt. The newlyweds made their home in Franklin, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two children. After Raymond's untimely death on October 20, 1955 at Independence, Missouri, Dora continued living in Franklin with her two small children. On June 18, 1961, she was united in marriage to Harry Griffin. To this union one child was born. Dora was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and she especially cherished their time together. Dora was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Franklin, Nebraska, and had taught Sunday School for several years. She was preceded in death by: parents; husbands, Raymond Schmidt and Harry Griffin; brother, Albert Tobiassen and sister, Lizzie Stearley. Survivors are: sons, Roger Schmidt of Topeka, Kansas and Brett Griffin of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter, Debra Lange and husband Roger of Aurora, Nebraska; grand daughters, Kimberly Simpkins and husband Reggie of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jaimi Schmidt of Carlsbad, California, Lindsay Nielsen of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandson, Jared Nielsen of Grand Island, Nebraska; great grand children, Raymond, Daja, Regina and Tristin; sister, Martha Lang of Hastings, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends. Inurnment was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska. Published in The Grand Island Independent on August 1, 201
