Doris was born on August 28, 1923 to Christian and Dora (Schow) Sonderup in Wolbach. She graduated from St. Paul High School. After high school, she worked for the bomber plant in Bellevue during World War II. This is where she met the love of her life, Burch Fenstemaker. On January 19, 1947, they were united in marriage in Genoa and lived on a farm between Genoa and Fullerton. After their first daughter, Connie, was born, they moved to a farm north of Fullerton where the other daughters, Cheryl and Christie, were born. She worked for Dr. Maly for many years before becoming a homemaker on the farm. In 1997, her daughter, Christie, passed away and they helped take care of their grandchildren. She belonged to the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. She also belonged to Wall Street Extension Club and helped with many 4H projects. She was also on the school board for Fullerton Public Schools. She spent much of her time helping her husband on the farm and caring for her children. She is survived by [edited for privacy]. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christie; siblings, Fern (Paul) Smith, Norman (Shirley) Sonderup, Dale (Phyllis) Sonderup, Vern Sonderup, Lee Sonderup, Milo Sonderup, and Larry Sonderup; and brothers-in-law, Bernie Callahan and Lee Bisel.
