Description	:	Doris Rebecca Lord, the daughter of Roy and Lottie (Brown) Moore, was born at Hansen, Nebraska, on October 14, 1921, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 30, 1995, at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 16 days. She grew up and received her education in the Phillips Community, and graduated from Phillips High School in 1939. She worked at Silas-Manson war plant in Grand Island. Read More	Doris Rebecca Lord, the daughter of Roy and Lottie (Brown) Moore, was born at Hansen, Nebraska, on October 14, 1921, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 30, 1995, at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 16 days. She grew up and received her education in the Phillips Community, and graduated from Phillips High School in 1939. She worked at Silas-Manson war plant in Grand Island. On October 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to John "Bus" Lord, at Aurora, Nebraska. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1993. They lived in Aurora all their married life, and Doris worked with her husband in the shoe repair business for over 50 years. In 1990, Doris suffered a crippling stroke, and after much therapy and her stamina and perseverance, she recovered quite well. She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, belonged to the Aurora Chapter of Eastern Star #93, had served as president of the American Legion Auxiliary, president of the Aurora Federated Women's Club, vice-president of the Plainsman Museum Historical society, was head of the Red Cross Blood Mobile for years, helped organize the Nebraska Centennial Celebration in 1967, was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and belonged to the Blue Valley Keepsake Doll Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Richard. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband John "Bus" of Aurora; 3 sons, Roger of Ladson, South Carolina, Michael of Boulder Creek, California, and Gary of Mesa, Arizona; 4 brothers, Arnold of Lemon Grove, California, Gale of Elsie, Carl of Giltner, and Lloyd of Aurora; one sister Mary Reisinger of Palmer, 4 grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
