Read More	Dorothea Rogers Died at Age 84 Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 10, 2002 for Dorothea Caroline Margaret Rogers, daughter of Fredrick and Katherine (Grummert) Hornbussel, with Pastor Leslie Warner officiating. Dorothea, the daughter of Fredrick and Katherine (Grummert) Hornbussel, was born on March 27, 1918 on a farm near Superior, NE. She passed away on August 7, 2002 at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 10 days. Dorothea was one of 8 children; she was baptized and confirmed at the Salem Lutheran Church, Superior. She was educated at Beaver Rural School and graduated from Superior High School. On March 10, 1941, in Twin Falls, Idaho Dorothea was united in marriage to Bud Rogers; four children were born to this union. Preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, LeAnn K. (Rogers) Emal, three brothers, Fredrick, George and Edwin; and two sisters, Erna Schiermeyer and Lenore Bruce. Those surviving include her husband Bud, daughter, Lynda R. Kalinowski and husband Carl of Omaha, NE. Son Randy J. Rogers and wife Leona of Hastings, NE. daughter Jean Cassidy and husband Robert of Lincoln, NE and son-in-law Jim Emal of Wilbur, NE, six grandchildren, Angela Snyder, Candy Kallinowski (sic), Sonia Chase, Korena Varejcka, Cory Emal and Scott Rogers; and four great grandchildren, Bernadette and Michael Snyder and Paul and Andrew Chase; sisters Pauline Knott and husband Robert of Omaha, NE. and Rosella Martin of Superior, NE. and sister-in-law Donna Mary Hornbussel, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. Music was the "Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art", with Carol Shambaugh as soloist and Carlita Price as organist. Pallbearers were Lee Fintel, Mike Rogers, Daren Schiermeyer, Tom Johnson, and Tom Martin. Honorary pallbearers were Cory Emal, James Varejcka, Scott Rogers, Wade Chase and Mark Snyder. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, NE. Memorials may be sent in care of the family. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, NE. was in charge of the arrangements.
