Dorothy passed away on June 11, 2007. She died after a brief fight with cancer, passing peacefully at home, with three of her children present. Dorothy, known to her friends as Dot, was born Dorothy Pauline Ronning on May 26, 1925, in Sas-katchewan, Canada. She lived, was raised in, and graduated from high school in Fort Benton. After graduation, she attended commer-cial college at Kinman Business College in Seattle. After graduating from Kinman, Dorothy went to work for the airlines in Seattle, and loved working there. Returning to Montana, she mar-ried Vonley "O.B." Cox in Great Falls on Aug. 26, 1945. In 1949, she and O.B. bought the ranch on the Smith River, where she lived the rest of her life. It was there she raised her children. Dorothy worked on the ranch, and partici-pated actively in the close-knit life of the ranch community. As her children grew and moved away, she became a grandmother and then a great-grandmother. She played an important role in the lives of the grandchildren and was greatly loved and now will be missed by all. In addition, she spent almost 20 years driving to and from Great Falls to work at Mountain Title, dodging deer the entire way. The final score was deer 3, Mom 0. Throughout her life on the ranch, Dorothy remained close to her longtime friend and neighbor, Bertie Ogden. Besides the company of friends and family, Dorothy lived with her cat, Chubbs, a faithful and constant companion. To her children, Mom was a con-stant and unflagging source of love, support and understanding. She was loved. She is loved. She will be missed forever. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, O.B., in the sum-mer of 2000; an infant son; her parents, Dolores (Jim) Bishop and George Ronning; and her brother Gene. Memorials are suggested to the Sletten Cancer Institute, c/o Benefis Healthcare Foundation, P.O.
