Born in Pickens County, she was the widow of J.T. "Buck" Messer, and was the daughter of the late Tete and Bertie Dodgens Patterson. She was retired from Pratt Reed Piano Co. in Central, and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was predeceased by a brother, O'dell Patterson; and two sisters, Leola Lesley and Lucille Stewart. Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Messer were held 11 a.m. Saturday March 27, 2004 at Landmark Baptist Church. Interment at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Friday March 26, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Liberty Mortuary. Her body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The family will be at the home.
