Description	:	A respected physician in Cheraw, Dr. Malloy married Henrietta Maria Coit in 1843. They had six sons and three daughters; Anna Maria, John Charles, Mary Elizabeth, Edward Cuyler., David Coit, Archibald Alexander II, Henry Winthrop, William Herbert and Henrietta Maria. All three girls died as children. They also raised Archie's two orphaned Bunting nieces, Catherine/Cattie and Sarah/Sally as their own. They had six sons and three daughters; Anna Maria, John Charles, Mary Elizabeth, Edward Cuyler., David Coit, Archibald Alexander II, Henry Winthrop, William Herbert and Henrietta Maria. All three girls died as children. They also raised Archie's two orphaned Bunting nieces, Catherine/Cattie and Sarah/Sally as their own. In 1832, Dr. Malloy purchased as their home in Cheraw, Chesterfield District the house known as the Lafayette House since Gen LaFayette was entertained when he visited Cheraw. This grand dwelling was built by Col William Ellerbee in 1822. It became a depot for the outfitting of recruits for the Civil War. Dr. Malloy and his wife Henrietta Coit lived there until their deaths in 1864. Dr. Malloy was making a professional call in January of 1864. While crossing the PeeDee River in the old covered bridge, his horse was frightened and he was killed when he was thrown from his sulkey. Dr. Malloy's parents are buried in the Old Malloy Cemetery in Richmond, Scotland County, North Carolina.
