Description	:	Corning friends and relatives were saddened last week when word came that Dr. R. W. Homan, of Webster City, had passed from this life at his home at 6 o'clock Thursday evening, October 31, 1918. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Webster City. Dr. Homan was 49 years of age the 24th, of March. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Webster City. Dr. Homan was 49 years of age the 24th, of March. He was born in Cornng, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Homan, both of whom are deceased. He was married August 18, 1897, in Corning. Mr. Homan was a graduate of the State university in 1894, and was assistant professor of eye, ear, nose and throat in the medcal school at the state university at Iowa City before going to Webster City. For about 17 years Mr. Homan had resided in Webster City. He was a conscientious and universally loved gentleman, being prominent in the" activities of the Baptist church of which he was a member and a staunch supporter of all things for moral and social uplift of the community in which he resided. Beside his wife Dr. Homan is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Alma VanWagenen, and Misses Gertrude and Lucy Homan, all of Corning, also by two brothers, Fred W. Homan at Colorado Springs, and Prof. T. B. Homan, of Iowa City. Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Homan, both of whom preceded the father in death. The three sisters attended the funeral Sunday. from the Adams County Free Press, dated 11-6-1918 .
