Description	:	Dr. Seine Bolks De Pree was born in Springfield, Mich. August 24, 1873, the oldest son of Rev. Mr. and Mrs. James De Pree and died Monday at the Hull hospital of cancer. In 1880 he came to Sioux county with his parents when his father accepted a call to become the minister of the first church in Sioux Center. After attending country school he went to the Northwestern Classical Academy. Read More	Dr. Seine Bolks De Pree was born in Springfield, Mich. August 24, 1873, the oldest son of Rev. Mr. and Mrs. James De Pree and died Monday at the Hull hospital of cancer. In 1880 he came to Sioux county with his parents when his father accepted a call to become the minister of the first church in Sioux Center. After attending country school he went to the Northwestern Classical Academy. After he graduated from that institution he clerked in Orange City and then he went to Hope College, Holland, Mich, where he graduated in 1899. He studied medicine at Rush Medical school in Chicago and received his M D in 1903. That same year he married Elena Hyink and they settled in Sioux Center where he practiced medicine. In 1918 he enlisted in the army and was honorably discharged after the Armistice. He practiced medicine in Holland Mich, from 1926 to 1929 but then again returned to Sioux Center. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Dr. James, Chicago, Bernard of Holland, Mich., and J. M. Warren, senior medical student at Rush Medical school; one daughter, Lucille; three brothers, John of Ireton; Al of Sioux Center and Neal of Maurice; and two sisters, Mrs. H. Evenhuis of Chicago and Mrs. Gerrit Boeyink of Sioux Center. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Central Ref. church with the Rev. Mr. R. Meengs officiating. Legionaires were present at the funeral and honorary pall bearers included Drs. Gerrit Maris, Hull; Will Maris, Frank De Haan, H. De Mots of Sioux Center; Walter Balkema of Sheldon and George Marion De Young of George. Sioux County Capital 1938-10-06.
