Read More	HENNESSEY, EARL DENNIS—Earl Dennis Hennessey was born on July 15, 1906, to Dennis and Frances Bell Hennessey on a farm north of Milligan, and passed away at the York General Hospital in York on Sunday, September 13, 1987, at the age of 81 years. He was the youngest of three children in the family. He was married to Gladys L. Fellows of Geneva on March 11, 1943, in Chandler, Az., and to this union a daughter, Cheryl Sue was born. Earl left school in 1923 to farm with his father in Geneva until 1937. He later moved to York and worked for the Gillan Baking Company as a salesman. Four years later he joined Montgomery Ward in York. He continued his employment with Montgomery Ward until 1942 when he was called to services. He served in the Army Air Corps until 1945, returning to York where he worked as an implement salesman. After seven years he returned to his hometown of Geneva, where he worked for Fillmore County Implement for over 20 years, selling John Deere farm machinery. His greatest joy was calling on and visiting with his farmer friends in a wide area. He retired in 1970 and had lived in York for the last 17 years. Earl enjoyed gardening as a hobby and was most proud of what he grew. He was a member of the First Christian Church of York, where he served as a deacon for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 68 in Geneva. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clement; and a sister, Celya. He is survived by his wife, Gladys of York; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and David Wewee of Salt Lake City, Utah, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the First Christian Church in York on Wednesday, September 16, with the Rev. Christ Franklin officiating. Deanna Patterson accompanied Mrs. Perry Myer, who sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Peace in the Valley.” Pallbearers were Dave Dickerson, Wilmer Hamilton, Leo Hennessey, Forest Ferree, Wilbur Sanmann and Dick Wagner. Honorary bearers were James Christiansen, Clarence Churchill, Lewis Ekart, Alfred MacIheran, Perry Reichlinger and E. H. Volzke. Interment was in the Geneva city cemetery.
