Description	:	Eddie Mason Carr, Sr., 68, of Pearisburg, Va., passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Mr. Carr was born on November 23, 1937 in Staffordsville, Va. and was a son of the late Mason Bane Carr and Ida Semones Carr. Mr. Carr graduated from Eggleston High School in 1956 and served six years in the U.S. Army National Guard. Mr. Carr retired in 1992 from Celanese Fibers in Narrows with 37 years of services, was a member of the Thessalia Methodist Church and was a past Master of Giles Masonic Lodge # 106 in Pearisburg.... Mr. Carr was born on November 23, 1937 in Staffordsville, Va. and was a son of the late Mason Bane Carr and Ida Semones Carr. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Morris Carr of Pearisburg; one son, Eddie M. Carr, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Salisbury, N.C.; one daughter, Kathy Carr Clark and her husband, Mark of Pulaski; two grandchildren, Matthew Clark and Marissa Clark of Pulaski; two aunts, Lenora Carr of Pearisburg, Mileta Sowers of Christiansburg; and one uncle, Victor Semones of Parrot. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 22, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg with the Rev. Brad Lewis officiating with entombment following in the Abbey. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Bible Bus Fund of Giles County, or to the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life in his memory.
