SCHEPERS Edith Adeline Houghton Conn Schepers was born November 22, 1883, at Cameron, Nebraska, and passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, on November 8, 1962. She was married to Edward Conn and to this union were born two children: a daughter Cecil, and a son Edward Jr. In 1911 after the death of her husband Edward N. Conn, she homesteaded in Wyoming, where she met and was later married on June 16, 1913, to Bernard “Barney” H. Schepers whe she was 30 and Barney was 33. Later they moved to Shelton where her daughter Margaret was born. In 1917 they moved to Anselmo where Edward Jr. passed away, and on June 7, 1920, a son Ralph was born. They moved back to Shelton where they lived several years until Margaret and Ralph graduated from Shelton High School. In 1945 they moved to Calloway, Nebraska, where Barney passed away. Edith spent the remainder of her life in Callaway. She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Cecil Savidge of Callaway, and Mrs. Margaret Hall of Lexington; one son Ralph Schepers of Shelton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services for Edith Schepers were held at the Methodist Church in Callaway on Monday, November 12, at 10 o’clock AM with Rev. Arthur Winkler and Rev. Roy West officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Robert Cook and Mrs. Keith Young, with Mrs. Charles Axtell at the organ. Pallbearers were Howard Scott, Gale Edwards, Ivan Baker, George Rhoades, Wayne Hogg, and Ralph Morrison. Services were also held at the Methodist Church in Shelton at 2:30 PM with interment in the Cameron cemetery. She was proceeded in death by two husbands and her son, Edward , Jr.
