Description	:	Obituary Edith Marks Grooms Edith Marks, daughter of John and Jane Marks, was born in Custer county, Nebraska, June 14, 1881. When about 14 years of age she came with her parents to Valentine, Nebraska, where she was raised until about eleven years ago. She was married March 1, 1900, to Samuel Groom. To this union were born eight children, six of whom are living. On account of the ill health of the husband, the family left this city seeking better health conditions elsewhere, finally settling in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where the husband died February 23, 1920. Mrs. Groom united with the... Read More	Obituary Edith Marks Grooms Edith Marks, daughter of John and Jane Marks, was born in Custer county, Nebraska, June 14, 1881. When about 14 years of age she came with her parents to Valentine, Nebraska, where she was raised until about eleven years ago. She was married March 1, 1900, to Samuel Groom. To this union were born eight children, six of whom are living. On account of the ill health of the husband, the family left this city seeking better health conditions elsewhere, finally settling in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where the husband died February 23, 1920. Mrs. Groom united with the Methodist church when she was a girl and continued her faith until her death. On Saturday morning, as she was driving to her work, her car collided with another at an intersection of streets in Scottsbluff and the accident caused almost instant death. She leaves to mourn their loss, four sons, Robert Lee, Lester, Merrit and Manuel, two daughters, Mrs. Lydia Himan, Mrs. Nora Morris, six brothers and three sisters besides her many friends both in Valentine and Scottsbluff. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Episcopal church in Valentine, by the pastor and interment was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
