She married Benjamin Nair on 17 August 1910 in Greene Co, Iowa. They were the parents of Mamie, Mable, Mildred, Merlin, Verle, and Robert. Jefferson Bee - Tuesday, April 5, 1938 - Edith Fay Thomas, daughter of Howard and Maud Thomas, was born near Scranton, Iowa, February 25, 1892, and passed from this life at her home southwest of Scranton on April 2, 1938 at the age of 46 years, 1 month, and 7 days. She lived all of her life in Greene county, having been educated in the public schools and being an attendant of the little country church at Providence. On August 17, 1910 she was united in marriage with Ben H. Nair. To this union were born six children. One of them died in infancy. Five survive her. They are: Mrs. Dale Brown of Scranton; Merlin W. Nair of Bagley; Verl W. Nair, farming with his father; and Mildred and Robert at home. Mrs. Nair became a christian in young life and united with the Methodist Episcopal church in 1919 at the Providence church. She has been a faithful member, and was a good mother and wife. She had a happy disposition and gathered a large circle of friends as she lived her life. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and the five children mentioned above; and two grandchildren, Carroll and Regina Brown; and four brothers and five sisters: Roy Thomas of Jefferson, Pearl Thomas of Scranton, Mrs. John Blum of Odebolt, Ia., Mrs. Howard Blum of Laurel, Ia., Corwin Thomas of Scranton, Mrs. Frank Ballard of Ankeny, Mrs. Guy Clark, Mrs. Jack Robson and Orla Thomas all of Scranton. The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church in Scranton Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. R.J. Arms. Music was provided by a quartet, Clarence Gotter, Mrs. Delmar Compton, Mrs. Donald Hunter and Jack Hunter. Mrs. Charles L. Brown at the piano. Interment was made in the Willow cemetery. The casket bearers were: D.L. Holmes, Delmar Hoyt, James Gotter, Charley Rogan, Charles L. Brown, and George Calder.
