She was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Sidney, Iowa, to John and Fern (Otte) Jordan. She grew up in Sidney where she attended grade school and graduated from Sidney High School in 1942. She married Paul Rowe on April 14,... Read More	Fremont Tribune (NE) - Tuesday, April 12, 2005 Edith I. Rowe, 80, of Valley died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Valhaven Nursing Home in Valley. She was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Sidney, Iowa, to John and Fern (Otte) Jordan. She grew up in Sidney where she attended grade school and graduated from Sidney High School in 1942. As a young girl, she played high school basketball, helped on the farm, was active in the rodeo and was a very young member of the Legion Auxiliary. She attended Peru State College for one year. She married Paul Rowe on April 14, 1945, in Sidney. They raised their family in Sidney, Tabor, Iowa, Valley and Ithaca before settling in Valley in 1955. She worked as a secretary at the Nebraska Ordnance Plant near Mead before going to work for Dr. Moellering in the early 1960s as a dental assistant and remaining for many years. She also worked for Dr. Furst. She had been a resident at Orchard Gardens until her move to Valhaven in January 2005. Survivors include: four sons, Dick (and wife, Pat), Tom (and wife, Lynnell) and Bill, all of Valley, and Denny (and wife, Connie) of Winslow; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn with the Rev. Carl Ratcliff officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn. Memorials have been established to the Valley YMCA and the Valley Rescue Squad.
