Miss Lesley was married to S.T. Parson in Decatur county, Kansas, March 20, 1886. To this union were born eight children, two of whom preceded their mother in death. The surviving children are: Mrs. Lulu Lewis of Creston, Iowa; Mrs. Goldie Hillan of Concordia, Kansas; Glen of Huntington, Arkansas; Clifford, Ernest and Gladys of Concordia. About eleven years ago Mrs. Parson accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the A.C. church of this city. She was a devoted Christian and looked with faith and hope to the future, when the tangled threads of our poor lives here will be all straightened out, when death and sorrow shall be no more and mortality shall give place to life. Mrs. Parson has been ill for several years. The family spent three or four years in Arkansas largely for the benefit of her health. Recently she was taken to the hospital in Topeka where she died of pneumonia. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a conscientious Christian. May the Great Spirit comfort the ones who mourn and help us all to have our faith in Him, looking for the life given and who shall come in the morning hours of the great Resurrection Day. Funeral services were conducted at the Advent Christian church by the pastor, Rev. V. Sizemore, after which the body was laid to rest in the Glasco cemetery.
