Memorial services were held at the First Methodist Church Saturday forenoon, May 12, at 10:30 o'clock, with Rev. A. C. Long officiating. Interment was in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Ralph D. Wingert, the former Edna Louise French, was born July 16, 1884, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of Mrs. Louise French and the late Shuler French, was educated in the Tipton schools and was married to Ralph Wingert, on February 20, 1907. They resided on a farm east of Tipton, Iowa, until December 1941, when they established their home in Tipton. She was a member of the Methodist church, was a Past Matron of Tipton Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and had been active in church work and other community activities during her life. Mrs. Wingert is survived by her husband, Ralph D. Wingert; four daughters, Mrs. Dorotha Kakert of Bettendorf; Mrs. Evelyn Karn of Belfast, N. Y.; Mrs .Helen Behrens of Clarence, Iowa; and Mrs. Elaine Kabel, Mt. Morris, Ill.; two sons, Harold R. Wingert, of LaPorte City. Iowa, and Wallace W. Wingert of Tipton; her mother, Mrs. Louise French, Tipton; two brothers, John French of Bozeman, Montana, and Herbert French of Quietus, Wyo. There are eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Emma Louise and Betty Edna, a sister Zada French, and a grandson Dennis Lee Wingert.
