Daily Ledger Monday Dec. 20, 1954 Pg. 8 Col. 3 Rite Wednesday For Mrs. Cassel Mrs. Andrew E. Cassel, lifetime resident of Jefferson county, passed away Sunday evening at the Jefferson county hospital where she entered as a patient Friday noon. Her death came at 9:32 p.m. after she had been in failing health for several years. Last rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. L. L. Weis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Edna V. Cassel, 76, was born Aug. 8, 1878, the daughter of the late John and Katherine (sic) D. Clapp McCulley. She was born on a farm one mile east of Salina. She was united in marriage in 1904 to Andrew E. Cassel. We wedding took place at the home of her parents. A resident of Fairfield for 49 years, she was a member of the Woman's club and the last charter member of the Fairfield chapter, D.A.R. She was also a member of the Methodist church. Her husband, the late Andrew E. Cassel, was a retired postal employee and he passed away March 22, 1954. Mrs. Cassell (sic) is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James Russell, Fairfield, and a granddaughter Jean Ann Russell, also of this city.
