R.E. Fishers, pastor of the Free Methodist church, will be in charge. Burial will be in the Maplewood cemetery. Mr. Brecht was born April 8, 1879, in Council Grove, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Brecht. He was married to Alta Whinery in Joplin, Mo., on April 25, 1911. He had lived in Emporia about nine years. Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Harold E. Brecht and Earl E. Brecht, Grove, Okla.; five daughters, Mrs. Everett Yeubanks, Cherryvale; Mrs. Ed Childers, 104 Congress; Mrs. John Lamb 102 Congress; Mrs. Lewis Collins, Topeka; Miss Mary Brecht, of the home; one brother, Henry Brecht, Saffordville; one sister, Mrs. Bert Young, San Fernando, Calif,; and by eight granddaughters, eight grandsons, and two great grandchildren.
