Description	:	Albert Huskins March 16, 2011 Albert Huskins, 80, of Seven Mile Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care Center. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Virgil and Lula Huskins and the husband of Gertrude Wilson Huskins. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Huskins, Sr., who passed away in 2006 and a brother, Gary Huskins, who passed away in 1970. Read More	Albert Huskins March 16, 2011 Albert Huskins, 80, of Seven Mile Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care Center. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Virgil and Lula Huskins and the husband of Gertrude Wilson Huskins. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Huskins, Sr., who passed away in 2006 and a brother, Gary Huskins, who passed away in 1970. Albert was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, where he loved playing his guitar and singing. He sang at many churches and will be always remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He loved logging, sawmilling, and staying in his garage "tinkering" with cars. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Gertrude Wilson Huskins; his daughter, Marsha Huskins and husband, Rev. Kent Murphy; sons: Kenneth Huskins and David Huskins and wife, Kathy, all of Seven Mile Ridge; sisters: Marie Dale of Old Fort, Jean Gouge and husband, Phillip, of Blue Rock and Barbara Gurley of Asheville; brothers: Roy Huskins and wife, Hazel, of Seven Mile Ridge, Herman Huskins of Burnsville, Ray Huskins and wife, Norma, of Seven Mile Ridge, and Larry Huskins of Little Switzerland. Nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday, March 19th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Kent Murphy and Rev. Ronnie Gouge will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. on Friday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home.
