The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Miller, with the Rev. Richard Lounsbery officiating. Burial will be in the GAR Cemetery. Edward Allen Shaw was born May 16, 1900, to Mr. and Mrs. Willard (Nellie Bingham) Shaw in Glendale Township, Hand County, where he attended grade school. As a young man he spent three years working as a farm laborer in Iowa before returning to South Dakota. He married Henrietta Heezen Nov. 13, 1926, in Huron. They farmed until 1962 and continued to reside on their farm in Como Township, Hand County, until his death. He was a township assessor for several years and an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of Ree Heights; one son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Mary Shaw of Scobey, Mont.; one grandson, Tony Shaw, and his wife, LuAnn, of Millersburg, PA.; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ardella Bingham of Miller, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, one sister, Nellie; two brothers, Charlie and George, and an infant brother. Pallbearers will be Don and Mike Ames, Arthur, Jack, Dennis and Gary Heezen. From Barb Jones
