He... Read More	Salina Journal Sunday January 23, 2000 Page 7 Eddie George MESQUITE, Nev. — Eddie George, 66, Mesquite, formerly of Clyde, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at his home. Mr. George was born Feb. 10, 1933, at Cottonwood Falls, Kan., and lived in Mesquite since June. He was a Korean War Air Force veteran and had worked for his father at George Motor Company in Clyde. He served on the city council as water commissioner and later as chairman of the board for the Grand Lake, Colo., water and sanitation district prior to the construction of the three-lakes project. He worked at the Grand Lake Golf Course and was general manager and partner of Snowbridge Square Liquor Store at Cooper Mountain, Colo. He was a member of the Catholic Church, Elks Lodge, a charter member of the Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Mesquite; a daughter, Dorothy Johnston of Rock Springs, Wyo.; two sons, Jim of Narka, Kan., and Ed of Fairbury, Neb.; a sister, Dorothy Gonzales of Clyde; a brother, Jim of Clyde; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev. LeRoy Metro officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Chaput Mortuary, 310 Washington, Clyde 66938, and after 6 p.m. Monday at the church. The casket will remain closed.
