Description	:	E. C. (Ted) Kennedy was born April 5, 1882 to Edward and Sarah Shipley Kennedy of Nodaway, Iowa and passed away February 11, 1961 at the age of 78 years and 10 months. He was married to Nellie Grace Kirk on July 4, 1904 at Maryville, Missouri in a double ring ceremony with Elmer and Lora Russell Brown, now of Emporia, Kansas as attendants. To this union two children were born, Kenneth Kirk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Josephine (Mrs. Marten Fabriruls) of Osage, Iowa. Ted joined the Nodaway Presbyterian Church in January of 1905 and serves his church in many capacities all of his life. He was an elder at the time of his death. He was a charter member of the Masonic Lodge, Chapter 509 which was organized in January of 1906. He maintained an active interest in his lodge all of these years. His main interests were his home, family, church, and community. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and sister, two brothers, Laurence and Charles. He is survived by his wife Grace; his children Kenneth and Josephine; two foster sons, Clyde and Dan Williams of Red Oak, Iowa, and eight grandchildren, Kay Kennedy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carol Jo Kennedy Williams of Washington D. C., Carol Ann Fabriculs of Osage, Iowa, Lt. Robert Edward Fabriculs stationed in Hawaii, Marleta,, Vickie, Timothy, and Christine Williams of Red Oak. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank, Fred, Will of Nodaway, and Phil of Corning and sisters, Winifred McClelland of Villisca, Edna Fravel of South Dakota, and Nellie of Nodaway, and many nieces and nephews. Ted sincerely appreciated the many acts of kindness by his neighbors and friends during his hospitalization and illness. Services were held at the Nodaway Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alvin Sigafus officiating and burial was in the Nodaway Cemetery. Adams County Free Press, March 2, 1961, page 6
