She passed away at the Good Samaritan Home in Villisca where she had lived for quite some time. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Sutphen Funeral Home in Villisca. Kennedy were held Wednesday, July 11, 1979 at 2:00 p.m. from the Sutphen Funeral Home for Nellie B. Kennedy. Dr. Chris Herring officiating. Casket bearers were Clint Action, Julius March, Otto Heard, Pat Kennedy, Marion Hendrickson, and Wayne Strait. Flowers bearer was Mrs. Otto Heard. Music by Mrs. Quincy Dunn. Selections, "The Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden", and "How Great Thou Art." Mrs. Julius March in charge of memory book. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery, Nodaway, Iowa with Sutphen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Nellie B. Kennedy, eleventh child of Edward and Sarah Shipley Kennedy, was born April 3, 1891 and passed away on July 9, 1979. She was born near Nodaway, Iowa. She attended "No. 9" School until she entered high school at Nodaway and was the last surviving member of her graduating class of 1910. After the death of her parents, she and her brother, Frank continued to live at the farm home until 1959 when they moved to Nodaway. After Frank's death in 1969, her health was so poor she entered the nursing home in Villisca until her death. She took an active part in the Women's Society of the Methodist Church and her many nieces and nephews were of great interest to her. She is survived by one sister, Winifred McClellan of Villisca; a great many nieces and nephews and their children and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ted Kennedy.
